THE WORSHIP LIFE
What does the Worship Life look like?
Does it mean coming to church, singing songs, lifting hands, kneeling, bowing, praying? Those can be the outward evidence of worship but first and foremost and most importantly, worship begins in the heart. Love for God, love for others and love for yourself.
Mathew 22:36-40 – Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the Law of Moses? He answered: ” ‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and all your mind’; and the second is equally important, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” This is one of the greatest scriptures in the bible, but also one of the most challenging.
- If you truly love God it will be reflected in how you love and care for others….
- We are naturally self-centered…Selfishness is an innate urge in every human being. A constant worship life causes you to lose focus of self and gain sight and insight of God and others, strips away selfishness, pride and all the things that can hinder your relationship with God.
Are you going to be perfect?
To simply answer the question…No, you will not be perfect. Worship is learned. It is a journey of discovery and growing in your relationship with God and His word. Understanding His heart and mind. The more you get to know the Father , the deeper your relationship and the more expressive you will be through your life. It is a process of transformation to learn to sincerely love the Lord in your expressions, in your thoughts and deeds. As a worshiper, you also live a life of repentance to remain clean and pure in heart because “only the pure in heart will see God”…David was a great example of that.
Psalm 24:3-5 3 who shall ascend the hill of the Lord? And who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false, and does not swear deceitfully. 5 He will receive blessing from the Lord, and vindication from the God of his salvation
True worship is an act of faith that expresses itself through an obedient life. The highest form of worship is our obedience to God. He is looking for those who will worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. Has He found YOU?
